ZTE, a Chinese smartphone brand, has just launched a smartphone dubbed as Tempo Go that runs on Android Oreo Go edition – Google’s especially tailored OS for entry level smartphones. The Chinese telecom giant becomes the first brand that brings a smartphone running Android Go in the US.
Just reminding you that the Android Go is designed for the platforms with limited hardware. The OS occupies less space and runs better on the devices with lesser RAM. As per Google’s earlier claims, the Android Go devices will offer 2x the amount of available storage on devices with 8GB of internal memory when compared to a regular build of Oreo. So let’s see how this phone will prove the claim of Google.
Tempo Go – Features
ZTE Tempo Go brings 5-inch display with 854 x 540 pixels resolution. A Snapdragon 210 chipset is there to power up the device along with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. However, a dedicated microSD card slot may be used to extend the memory up to 32GB.
There are 9 pre-installed apps in Tempo Go including Google Go, Google Assistant Go, YouTube Go, Google Maps Go, Gmail Go, Gboard, Google Play, Chrome, and the new Files Go app.
The Tempo Go features a 5MP rear camera and a 2MP selfie shooter. The smartphone also packs a 3.5mm headphone jack and a reasonable battery capacity of 2,200 mAh.
Tempo Go – Pricing and Availability
The Tempo Go is now available to buy online for $79.99 from ZTE US. There is no word from ZTE about the smartphone’s availability to other parts of the world. However, we anticipate to see the ZTE Tempo Go making its way to the emerging markets in coming weeks. Stay tuned to know more.
